This is Book 1 of Las Corbeaux The French Vampire Legend. The Key to Erebus is a tale of a girl, Jehenne, who has discovered she is a powerful witch and she is plunged into a world where, not only do supernatural beings exist, one of them, Corvus Albinus, Master Vampire has been waiting for her for over years. The Key To Erebus was probably the first ever vampire/paranormal fiction I've read where the action is set in somewhere other than the UK or the U.S. I loved the backdrop of the Dordogne countryside and found it to be a refreshing break from the norm and one that immediately caught my attention.
